You are about to begin a program of change that will permanently impact your quality of life. The information you will acquire will be invaluable to you because you are going to be spending the rest of your life in that body. I know you have always longed for total mental clarity, a sense of joy and resiliency in living, and energy to spare. You have had enough of up and down moods, anxiousness, tension, sadness, anger, irritability, muddled thinking, exhaustion and feeling powerless.

You may doubt a book can change any of this. But you will soon see that today's science has some new and powerful solutions for you. This program is not asking you to change your thinking or reprogram your emotions, or to therapize yourself into wellness. I am proposing to fix that malfunctioning computer, your brain, so it will finally begin to serve you normally.

Your physical recovery will depend on your strict adherence to the repair program that your unique body requires. You will be taking many replacement nutrient supplements, based on screening tests and lab work. You'll be making big changes in your diet and lifestyle. Friends may tease you about becoming a health nut. (Smile, they only wish they had your discipline and results!)

Each of you has your own personal agenda of emotional needs, but all will want to start with the basic repair program and diet. After that we can assess your specific needs, one by one, as they are presented, and add only the appropriate formulas for your recovery in each of these areas of need. As you begin, don't be tempted to casually read only bits and parts of the Depression Free, Naturally chapters. To follow the program as it is laid out for you, read the entire book carefully first. Then go back and begin with Step 1 (this section), and study each section that your BIO-TYPES OF EMOTIONS test red flags for you. I know you want answers to what your specific symptoms mean biochemically. You want proof that you do have underlying biochemical mistakes that are causing your grief.

The following screen of Bio-Types of Emotions has been reprinted from Depression Free, Naturally by permission of Dr. Joan Mathews-Larson. It was designed to help you feel more comfortable with this concept. Each symptom listed links to a physical cause(s) even though it feels emotional.

Instructions:

Using the "Bio-Types of Emotions©" list above, circle the numbers of symptoms in the graph below that apply to you. Example: Number 1 is Mental confusion. If sometimes true, circle each #1 appearing across the page for each category. At the end of the test, count the numbers you have circled under each chapter. If your total is at least as high as the last number in the final line of that category, you will particularly benefit from the chapters headlining those categories. For example: If the total numbers circled under Section 9 are ten or above, this section has important information for you.

The case studies in your special sections will tell you that you are not alone in your travails and that you can and will recover successfully, as many others have.

Searching for Clues

A short cut to reading the signals your body is giving you, is to study the genetic history on your family tree (Below). It will help your understanding of where and from whom some of these biological "gifts" may come. Genetics also prove helpful in choosing the most promising lab tests. Read the instructions before filling in your history.

Instructions:

Record your paternal history on the left side of a chart and maternal history on the right. Do not include relatives by marriages who are not biologically related.

Nationality

You may not see this as significant, but researchers have found some remarkable epidemiological patterns among certain groups. For example the Irish seem to have more schizophrenia per capita, than any other country. Scandinavians suffer from depression and have a high suicide rate. In the United States, the mid western states are known as the GOITER belt because the low iodine in the soil creates problems of hypothyroidism. The Irish, Welsh, American Indians, Scottish and Scandinavians seem to need extra prostaglandin E1, a brain metabolite that lifts depression and creates a strong sense of well-being. The Italian, Jewish, and American Indians are often vulnerable to diabetes. Susceptibility to alcoholism is much less in southern Europeans because they have used it for more than 7000 years compared with northern Europeans whose use has been only 1500 years. American Indians and Eskimos never had access to alcohol in their culture until a couple of hundred years ago and their vulnerability is over 80%. This is the "Survival of the Fittest" principle at work, eliminating, over many generations, those who were physically susceptible to alcohol's addiction and destruction.

Depression

Even though some of your relatives sought no formal treatment for depression, include those who seemed to live with much inner sadness. Any attempted or accomplished suicides also must be noted here.

Anxiety, Panic Attacks

Some anxiety riddled souls are so low-profile they are hard to identify. They avoid any and all stress like the plague. Others may be drug dependent on Valium or other tranquilizers to which they cling despite getting little relief.

Violence, Unprovoked Anger

This kind of relative stands out like a sore thumb. He or she will not be hard to recognize. They seem to be in high-arousal most of the time!

Diabetes / Hypoglycemia

Few can identify serious blood glucose problems during the hypoglycemic years preceding diabetes. Still, look for the sugar-holics, relatives living on a six-pack of Mountain Dew daily or junk food diets laced with sugar. Eventually, the overproduction of insulin that this lifestyle triggers, results in total exhaustion of insulin supplies. At that point, blood sugar just keeps rising when carbohydrates are ingested, and full-blown diabetes is finally diagnosed.

Mental Illness

We are looking for conditions such as "nervous breakdown," or the schizophrenias or ongoing abnormal dysperceptive states.

Allergies

Allergies may pertain to any relative wheezing or sneezing around pollens, dust, mold or grasses. Food allergies often show themselves as addictions to certain foods. Chemical sensitivities to perfumes, formaldehyde, gasoline products, pesticides, tobacco smoke, usually run in families.

Obesity / Eating Disorders

Look for food binging and weight problems leading to bulemia and/or anorexia. Young women are more likely to become bulemic in their misguided attempts at weight control, but binge eating is a good sign of food allergies/addiction in either sex at any age.

Thyroid Problems

Low thyroid function shows itself as sluggishness, hair loss, weight gain, and slowness to warm up because of low body temperature. It is often found among members of the same family. Unfortunately persons with similar amounts of energy usually tend to pair off in marriage, helping to perpetuate the high incidences of this trait.

Alcohol Addiction

Science has recognized the physical and genetic status of this disease for decades. To make an educated guess about some of the drinkers in your family, use this simple criterion: does he or she have an unusually high tolerance for alcohol? Anyone who has never been able to handle much alcohol is not an alcoholic. Those who can and do put away a lot of drinks are most likely to have problematic chemistry.

Your Own Warning Signs

Now that you have pondered the signs and symptoms that have surfaced in your family tree, it is time to look closely at your own life patterns.

A HISTORY OF SYMPTOMS (Below) will make you aware of how far back you can trace your own symptoms and how enduring they have been. Over half our clients when questioned as to what years they saw the first signs of their symptoms, trace them back to their teens. Often this is the most destructive time of their lives nutritionally. Teens love living on cola and junk food. They seem to have no understanding that their bodies, much like cars, need to be properly refueled in order to run. I have seen many college students who came to a screeching halt before the end of their freshman year, because they were literally living on refined sugars and take out junk food. The stresses of being away from home in new surroundings and coping with college level classes can be a setup for too much ongoing tension and anxiety, in a person whose brain chemistry is already precariously balanced.

This is the time that signs of emotional instability begin to appear. In the next section you will learn what troublesome "emotional" symptoms develop as a result of the shortages of common vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, amino acids. You will understand how systematically wiping out your nutrition will, over time, produce a wildly unstable person. Depending on how little reserve one has of certain life-giving elements, the resulting changes can range from panic attacks to exhaustion and from rage to suicidal ideation.

Some of you may have medication to ease your situation. Prescribed drugs can be a short-term blessing when relief is needed quickly. Then, the next step is to eliminate for good, the cause(s) of your woes. In the sections to come, you will learn more about your individual biochemical needs. Right now, you will immediately benefit by starting to create a base of essential nutrients to build on.

Setting The Stage

Today in a country of 225 million, over 125 million Americans take prescription drugs routinely and many of these drugs interfere with the absorption and metabolism of our essential nutrients. On top of this, few Americans actually eat a "well-balanced diet." A recent USDA food consumption survey on 20,000 people reveals that none of them consumed 100% of the recommended daily allowance for all the major nutrients ... And remember Dr. Linus Pauling's comment on the RDA as "only enough to keep people barely alive in ordinary poor health."

These (RDA) levels are barely adequate to prevent vitamin deficiency diseases such as scurvy (Vitamin C deficiency) and beri beri (Vitamin B1 deficiency) in healthy people. Recommended daily allowance (RDA) levels are highly misleading. They seriously underestimate the needs of people suffering from depression, anxiety, dementia, and schizophrenia and other chronic and degenerative diseases.

The recommended daily allowances (RDA's) for pathological states have never been recorded. Recommended daily allowances have been set only "for normal or average persons," whatever that means. If you live on a typical American junk food diet, it is very probable that you are far more under-nourished than you suspect!

At Health Recovery Center, we often see the mineral levels in hair analysis tests are very low, across the board. This is a certain sign of poor absorption and/or poor eating habits. Vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and essential fatty acids must interact with each other to be properly utilized, no one substance works all by itself.

Our approach has always been to start with a basic repair formula and then add more potent levels of certain natural chemicals as lab work confirms the need. Unfortunately, except for amino acids, most natural substances do not act quickly like drugs. They build more slowly over days or even weeks and months in certain people who have poor absorption. The Balanced Emotions Basic Formula that I have designed for you consists of a combination of amino acids, vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that will provide the nourishment you need to establish a high level of health. I have used these substances with clients at these dosages for almost two decades with very few or no problems.

Is The Balanced Emotions Basic Formula Safe?

Absolutely. All of these substances are natural ... your body is dependent on them for life and health. Nutrient therapy is extremely safe, compared to drug therapy.

These statistics were gathered between 1983-1987:

  • 0 deaths from nutritional therapy
  • 1,132 deaths from prescription drugs used correctly and 337 more deaths from across the counter aspirin and pain killers.

Ten years later:

  • JAMA reports 140,000 deaths occur annually from adverse drug reactions according to David Classen MD in The Journal of the American Medical Association (Jan 1997).

The Balanced Emotions Basic Formula

A brief explanation about each of the formula's substances should add to your comfort level concerning their use.

Amino Acids

Amino acids are getting headline attention as science discovers their amazing roles in our brain and bodies. They are the building blocks of protein and the chief components of our brain's nutrition. Science is only beginning to understand how imbalances and shortages of these aminos create "mental" illnesses such as depression, aggressive and hostile behavior, anxiety and paranoia.

Your central nervous system is almost entirely regulated by amino acids. All of the amino acids you will be taking have therapeutic potential in regulating brain function. They are also present and needed throughout your body. Each (Bio-Amino) capsule contains eighteen separate free-form aminos, which is the preferred form for easiest absorption.

This blend of amino acids has been developed and tested at Health Recovery Center. We have been impressed with the results that loading amino acids produce in improving moods, memory, feelings and energy.

For best absorption, take Bio-Aminos on an empty stomach. An explanation of each amino's potential will be found in Section Five. Suffice it to say that entire books are being written extolling the effects of these magical substances.

Tryptophan

Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, that we can't manufacture ourselves. The brain uses it to produce the neurotransmitter serotonin, which maintains emotional calm, regulates sleep, and prevents depression. Suicidal patients show significant decreases in serotonin levels. Autopsies have shown that a very low brain level of serotonin is one biological marker to suicide. People who are depressed or agitated can often use tryptophan as effectively as antidepressants.

Vitamin C (Ester C)

The newest form of Vitamin C has been named Ester C. It enters your blood stream twice as fast and penetrates the cells more efficiently. It is held in the body twice as long as the acerbate form of Vitamin C. It is also buffered with calcium to be easy on your stomach. Today, Vitamin C has become the most popular vitamin supplement in the U.S., due in part to Dr. Linus Pauling's research and promotion.

Vitamin C is a powerful detoxifier. At high dose levels, it kills invading viruses and bacterias. At 200 grams daily intravenously, it has cured hepatitis and the mono-nucleosis virus within days, according to researcher, Fred Klenner, MD. Almost every animal on our planet manufactures its own ascorbate, except humans. Mankind lost that luxury somewhere in our early development. A serious depletion of Vitamin C causes us frequent infections, fatigue and "mental" disorders such as depression. In earlier centuries scurvy killed many before we came to understand our need for Vitamin C. Ascorbate is one of the least toxic substances known. Linus Pauling tells us "People have ingested 125 grams at one time with no harm." He notes that, while it has been suggested that a high intake of Vitamin C can cause kidney stones, "not a single case of such kidney stones exists in medical literature."

Taking Vitamin C by mouth, rather than intravenously, eventually limits your intake by triggering diarrhea. The level at which this occurs is called BOWEL TOLERANCE, and it differs, depending on your state of health. If you are treating a virulent flu, you may load 50 to 75 grams of Vitamin C with no sign of diarrhea. But on a healthy day you may find you reach bowel tolerance at 12 grams. Vitamin C has been our most powerful weapon in detoxifying our clients at Health Recovery Center, whether it is drugs, alcohol, viral or bacterial problems. There is no better safeguard against disease than adequate amounts of Vitamin C in your body.

A Word About Minerals

All of the trace elements included in our vitamin/mineral formula are essential for life. Our emotional and physical well being depends on the availability in proper amounts of these substances. The chart below shows the roles of some of the minerals in the body and how their deficiencies seriously impact the brain and nervous system. Hair analysis is an excellent way of determining mineral and toxic metal levels.

A Brief Explanation of Amino Acid Chelates
Reprinted from Albion Research Notes:

Unfortunately, the health food industry has permitted the use of some terms for mineral forms that has caused a great deal of confusion. In spite of the official adaptation of mineral definitions by NNFA, the industry has allowed certain marketers to use the definitions to sell minerals that don't meet the defined criteria. For example, many claim to be making mineral amino acid chelates, but are they? What does it take to make a real totally reacted metal amino acid chelate? Albion Laboratories 'has been manufacturing this type of mineral under patented processes for many years. This method for the manufacturing processes of the various mineral amino acid chelates, as well as other Albion Manufactured nutritionally functional mineral chelates can be reviewed in any of the many patents that Albion holds.

Here are a few things that make Albion's mineral chelates stand out:

  • Albion possesses over 70 patents in the field of mineral technology.
  • Only Albion's mineral amino acid chelates have been given CAS Registry Numbers.
  • Only Albion mineral amino acid chelates are Kosher-Parve'.
  • Albion metal amino acid chelates have been chemically validated, and consequently, are the only known chelates that meet the, NNFA definition.
  • Virtually all published research on metal amino acid-chelates has been done using Albion metal amino acid chelates.

No other mineral amino acid chelate manufacturer can make these claims. Why are virtually all published clinical research on mineral amino acid chelates done on Albion produced material? In fact, one might want to ask the question, "why" to all of the above listed statements. Patents, CAS Registry Numbers, Kosher-Parve' status, chemical validation, and clinical research all increase the amount of scrutiny that the mineral amino acid chelate in, question must undergo, Only a company that knows that the integrity of its product will stand up to such scrutiny would expose itself to such review. Only a company that manufacturers a totally reacted, nutritionally functional mineral amino acid can claim all of the above listed accolades.

Can you define a mineral acid, chelate? A nutritionally functional mineral amino acid, chelate? If you are buying them in a supplement, it is important that you know what they really are. If it is not an, Albion patented mineral amino acid chelate, chances are it's not the real thing.

B Complex Vitamins (Found in Bio-Vits)

The B vitamins in the formula are particularly valuable for you. You may think I sound a little fanatic as I sing the praises of this special group of nutrients, but B vitamins play a vital role in delivering a stable nervous system and balanced brain!

Here are some highlights:

Thiamine (B1) loss causes neurological damage and many mental symptoms including memory loss, numbness, tingling in the arms and legs, mental confusion, nervousness, headaches, and poor concentration. Severe deficiency causes Beri-Beri and Werniche-Korsakoff syndrome, an irreversible brain deterioration seen in alcoholism.

Niacin (B3). Abram Hoffer, MD., a pioneer in niacin research, notes that symptoms of anxiety neurosis are strikingly similar to mild niacin deficiency (sub-clinical pellagra):

  • Depression
  • Fatigue
  • Apprehension
  • Headache
  • Hyperactivity
  • Insomnia

Pyridoxine (B6). We use B6 for the formation of fifty different enzymes. B6 is essential to metabolize all the amino acids and convert them into neurotransmitters. B6 is vital to maintain a stable immune system. Deficiency results in anxiety, nervousness and depression. A severe lack of B6 can bring on convulsions, severe anxiety, and extreme nervous exhaustion.

Pantothenic Acid (B5) plays a major role in adrenal function. It has long been called the "anti-stress" vitamin. In one study, prison volunteers who were deliberately fed a diet without lacking pantothenic acid became increasingly irritable, depressed, tense, dizzy, sullen and quarrelsome. All symptoms disappeared when this nutrient was re-supplied.

Folic Acid symptoms of deficiency are agitation, moodiness, headaches, depression and fatigue. Severe wipe out affects libido. (sex drive)

B12 Cobalamin depletion causes difficulty in concentration and memory and a stuporous type of depression. Many emotional disorders including insanity are the result of severe B12 deficiency. B12 is poorly absorbed in later years. Weekly injections make a huge difference in the lives of such people.

Inositol. This B vitamin is required for the proper action of brain neurotransmitters such as serotonin and acetyl choline. Thus, low inositol levels induce depression. Inositol has been shown effective in stopping panic disorders as well, and, unlike drugs, this water soluble vitamin has no significant side effects.

Choline. Improves learning capacity and protects against memory problems.

Antioxidants

The role of antioxidants in the body has only recently been fully understood. Oxidation ages us and irreversibly damages the intricate workings of our brains. Certain vitamins (B6, C, E, A) and minerals (selenium, zinc) and aminos (glutathione, methionine, cysteine, dimethylglycine) and herbs (gingko, silymarin) are able to protect our cells and nerves from being damaged by oxidation. Our brain cell membranes are the most susceptible to lipid peroxidation. This type of damage comes from exposure to toxic fumes from paint, cigarette smoke, gasoline, cleaning fluids, solvents, food rancidity and chemicals of all sorts. In general, antioxidants slow the aging process and protect our mental faculties against deterioration. Antioxidants are also our first line of defense in protecting us against cancer and heart attacks.

Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids
(EFAs, Natural Cold Water Matine Fish oil)

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) are essential to life, but are not produced by our bodies. We have to ingest them. Unfortunately, the average diet has few foods that are high in Omega 3 fatty acids: Cold water fish oils, certain seeds, and green leafy vegetables. Also food processors remove Omega 3 whenever possible, because these oils turn rancid easily. They replace them with hydrogenated oils. Researcher Donald Rudin has documented the declining intake of Omega 3 in the twentieth century, correlating the decline to the sharp increase of such modern illnesses as cardiovascular disease! In 1982 a Nobel Prize in Medicine was given for the discovery of how the metabolism of Omega 3 EFAs help to prevent heart problems.

The easiest way to get this important nutrient called for in the whole BALANCED EMOTIONS BASIC FORMULA is to take Bio-Omega-3. It's a liquid that tastes good and does marvelous things for us.

The role of omega-3 fatty acids is impressive. We need it forsteroid hormone production, immune system function, and for neural actions that affect our thinking and moods. Besides helping to regulate body temperature, it serves for the messenger for all hormone secretions as well as the uptake of B vitamins that stabilize our emotions.

Cold water fish oils like salmon, tuna and cod, are not likely to eaten daily. But supplementing these oils is just as effective. EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) omega-3 oils are preferred over flax or flax oils for many people , since the conversion of flax's ALA (alpha linolenic acid) into EPA is blocked in people with low levels of delta 6 desaturase. Individuals with Scandinavian or Celtic ancestory and Native Americans, as well as alcoholics, and those with the markers found in The History of My Symptoms Chart are likely candidates for this flaw.

With this glitch, the Omega-3 chain of conversion breaks down so the brain never gets enough omega-3 fatty acids to provide adequate mood regulation , or control hormone levels and stabilize emotions. (See chart below)

Omega Oils Conversion Process

Bio-Omega-3 oil is rich in EPA and DHA brain metabolites in a pre-converted form the brain can make immeediate use of. Made with carefully selected raw materials which undergo extensive purification, Bio-Omega-3 is tested and proven free of contamination by environmental pollutants. The addition of a natural lemon flavor and the proprietary antioxidant blend eliminates fishy aftertaste, while enhancing the stability of this product.

Bio-Omega-3 Fish Oil has not been chemically modified, hence it supplies the omega 3 fatty acids the way nature provides them.

Omega-6 EFA (Gamma Linolenic Acid)

Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA is the other "good" oil that many people lack. Despite the high fat intake in our diets today, the conversion from GLA to the important prostaglandins in the brain, is often inadequate, and the result is multiple "disasters."

Dr. David Horrobin, GLA researcher at the Institute for Innovative Medicine in Montreal found that inadequate levels of PGE1 could produce auto immune disease, inflammatory disorders, coronary thrombosis, spasm types of heart attacks, angina, and serious depression.

For the past ten years we have promptly eliminated this type of suicidal depression in clients who claim to have tried everything with no success. And it takes only one week on gamma linolenic acid. I will describe the clues to look for, in Section 6 on depression.

Bio-Enzymes (Pancreatic Enzymes)

If your pancreas fails to deliver adequate digestive enzymes to your intestinal tract, the absorption of fat and protein nutrients will be gravely impaired. Even the uptake of B vitamins will partially suffer. The old saying "You are what you eat." really should be updated to "You are what you absorb." This entire program rests on that premise.

Hydrochloric Acid (HCI) with Betaine

Insufficient stomach acid is the other reason you won't absorb your nutrients. This can be a significant health problem. Many more people have too low gastric acidity, than too much stomach acid. This deficiency shows itself by the following symptoms:

  • Feeling full after eating (waist expands)
  • Gas or belching immediately after a meal
  • Nausea after taking supplements
  • Indigestion
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Fingernails are weak, pealing
  • Adult acne
  • Undigested food in stools
  • Iron deficiency

Low stomach acidity is common in older people, in those with food allergies, candidiasis, hepatitis, lupus, frequent hives, pernicious anemia, rosacea, eczema, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and alcoholism.

Some feel they have too much stomach acid and take antacids. If this is you, please be careful because you are seriously interfering with the absorption of the minerals from your foods. Antacids also block pancreatic enzyme release from your pancreas so they ultimately interfere with almost all nutrient absorption. Those who are concerned about heartburn or other evidence of too much stomach acidity, should NOT take hydrochloric acid (HCl). You can determine your individual need for HCl by doing the following test.

Hydrochloric Acid Test

1. Start with one HCl capsule (10 grains) with a full meal. If you notice a tingling pain, or burning sensation in your stomach, you do not need hydrochloric acid.

2. If there are no reactions, after two days increase the number of capsules with each meal to two capsules.

3. Continue increasing every 2 (two) days, using up to 5 (five) capsules at a time if necessary. Cut back by one capsule per meal, when you reach a state of tingling or other discomfort, i.e.: a sensation of heaviness or a feeling of warmth in the stomach or lower sternum. These dosages may seem large, but a normally functioning stomach manufactures considerably more.

4. Once you have established a dose (either 5 capsules or less, if warmth or heaviness occurs), continue this dose.

5. With smaller meals, you may require less HCl so you may reduce the amount of capsules taken.

6. Individuals with very moderate HCl deficiency generally show rapid improvement in symptoms and have early signs of intolerance to the acid. This typically indicates a return to normal acid secretion.

7. Individuals with low HCl/Pepsin typically do not respond as well to supplements, so to maximize the absorption and benefits of the nutrients you take, it is important to be consistent with your HCl/Pepsin supplementation.

8. If, at any time, you experience a burning sensation, discontinue HCl supplementation.

Precautions: Administration of HCl/Pepsin is contra-indicated in peptic ulcer disease. HCl can irritate sensitive tissue and can be corrosive to teeth; therefore, capsules should not be emptied into food or dissolved in beverages.

When you have adequate HCl, you will have good absorption of all your nutrients and can then watch the rapid regeneration of health in every brain/body system.

Practical Advice for Managing Your Nutrients

The nutrients used at Health Recovery Center are the best quality we can find. They are in capsules, rather than difficult-to-digest hard pressed tablets.

If you are away from home, the easiest way to keep your nutrients on hand is to carry them in a plastic dispenser; when ordering a complete formula we will include a dispenser at no charge. You will take your amino acids 1 hour before breakfast and supper. You need to carry only your digestive enzymes for your noon meal. If you will be away for your supper meal, pack your aminos (2), Vitamin C (2), Multi Vit/Min (2), Antioxidant (2), GLA (1), pancreatic enzymes (1 or 2) in your plastic dispenser compartments, and you won't miss a beat.

Optimizing Your Program

Do be patient and open-minded as you move into the healing weeks ahead. It takes time to identify and alter the causes of your imbalances and it takes perseverance on your part to assimilate these tools and put them to proper use. Physical/emotional imbalances often seem to affect us spiritually in that we may feel disconnected from our deeper selves when we are biochemically out of "sync". Let me make a few general suggestions:

  • Start exercising one half hour every day. (Or at least every other day)
  • Take time to relax.
  • Commune with nature through some outdoor activity. (Gardening, walking)
  • Take time each day to be still and meditate, or pray, or just to feel your connection to all of life everywhere.
  • Remember your thoughts affect your health, so choose to expect the best.
